OEM, ODM & Private Label Services in Malaysia
One contract manufacturing group, four ways to work with it. Choose how much of the product you want to own and how fast you need it on the shelf, then add only the individual services you need.
Quick answer
ORIZI Group is a contract manufacturer in Malaysia offering four service models: Private Label (an existing formula under your brand, from 50 units through R2B), ODM (a formula from the Ready Formulas catalogue, adjusted to your brief), OEM (a custom formula developed for you, or your own formula manufactured to specification) and Contract Filling & Packing. Each project is produced by the group company licensed for that product category: Dr Orizi for cosmetics, D&O and Nutrizens for functional food and supplements, Imedify and Skyler for medical devices.

OEM vs ODM vs private label vs contract filling: the differences
The one question that separates them is whose formula it is. Everything else, from minimum order to launch time, follows from that.
| Private Label | ODM | OEM | Contract Filling & Packing | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Whose formula? | The manufacturer’s, unchanged | The manufacturer’s, adapted to you | Developed for you, or your own | Yours, supplied as formula or bulk |
| How much you can change | Brand, label, packaging | Fragrance, colour, texture, actives, claims | Everything | Packaging and pack format |
| Minimum order | From 50 units (R2B) | From 500 units | Quoted after feasibility | Quoted per format |
| Time to launch | About 1–2 weeks | About 1–3 months | About 3–6 months | After a line trial |
| Samples | Days | Days | Weeks, usually 2–3 rounds | Your own reference |
| Can other brands sell the same formula? | Yes | The base formula, yes; your adapted version per agreement | Per written agreement | No, it is yours |
| Best for | Testing a market with low risk | Launching a real brand quickly | Formula-led, differentiated brands | Brands moving production to Malaysia |
All four are forms of contract manufacturing, which is the umbrella term for making products under another company’s brand. Quantities and timelines are typical ranges; the exact figures are confirmed in the quotation. Formula ownership always follows the written agreement.

Questions people ask about our services
What is a contract manufacturer?
A contract manufacturer is a factory that produces products for other companies’ brands. ORIZI Group is a contract manufacturing group in Malaysia: it produces cosmetics, functional food, supplements and medical devices for brand owners under four models (private label, ODM, OEM and contract filling), so a brand can outsource anything from the whole product to just the production run. The fuller comparison of OEM, ODM and private label is on the manufacturing FAQ.
How long does OEM production take in Malaysia?
Between about two weeks and six months, depending on how much of the product already exists. At ORIZI Group a private label product through R2B can launch in roughly 1–2 weeks, an ODM project usually takes 1–3 months and full custom OEM development runs about 3–6 months. The most common delays are artwork, packaging decisions and sample approvals rather than the production run itself.
What is the minimum order quantity for each service?
Minimum order quantities at ORIZI Group start from 50 units for private label products through R2B and from 500 units for ODM projects built on the Ready Formulas catalogue. Custom OEM and contract filling are quoted after a feasibility review, because the quantity depends on batch size, packaging components and the production line.
Can I use only one service, such as packaging or product registration?
Yes. Each individual service, including R&D, packaging, raw material sourcing, product testing, regulatory consulting and design, can be used on its own. Brands that already have a manufacturer often use ORIZI Group only for regulatory work or packaging sourcing.
Can I start with private label and move to ODM or OEM later?
Yes, and that is the path many brands take: private label to test whether the market wants the product, ODM to launch a proper range, then custom OEM once volume justifies owning a formula. Staying with one manufacturing group keeps batch records, registrations and packaging suppliers in one place when you move up.
Which ORIZI company will manufacture my product?
The group company licensed for that category: Dr Orizi for cosmetics and personal care, D&O for powder functional food and supplements, Nutrizens for liquid functional food and beverages, and Imedify or Skyler for medical devices. Certificates for each company are listed on our certifications page.
Is halal-certified manufacturing available?
Yes. Halal-certified manufacturing is available through the group’s JAKIM-certified facilities for cosmetics, functional food and supplements, and the regulatory team advises which products and markets need it. See halal OEM manufacturing.
Not sure which model fits?
Send your product idea, target market, quantity and launch date. The team will recommend the model, and the first sample, that fits your budget.
